Christmas tree for the birds
Today I am reusing our Christmas tree by decorating the branches with fresh cranberries and popcorn strands. I also coated pine cones with peanut butter and bird seed. Underneath the tree I scattered bird seed, popcorn, and cranberries for the rabbits and squirrels.

Christmas with Family
This week we spent time with our family celebrating the Christmas season. Rachael and Elliot got matching remote-control cars! I crocheted Rachael a stuffed penguin, she loved it! I got a hand a made apron from Rachael and Aunt Tracy and Monopoly Here and Now world edition electronic banking form Grandma and Grandpa. I love my family!

Gifts in a Jar Party
This week I had some of my friends over and we had a great time making cookies in a jar. We each brought some ingredients. Mom and I supplied the jars and main ingredients. We also decorated the jars with fabric and ribbon. Then we all shared our white elephant gifts we brought. I made tea and cookies to share.

Sammy's Birthday
Today is our well loved Labrador retrievers 9th birthday. We made a yummy cake for him with his favorite vegetables in it (carrots, broccoli). We also gave him his favorite toy, the squeaky football. Today we had one of Sammy's friends Ginger the dog down the street over to celebrate! We are very grateful for our wonderful dog! Happy Birthday Sammy!

My Birds Nest collection
Lately I have been searching for empty birds nests in the bare trees. I have found two so far. The cup like nest was found in a baby tree at Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge. The materials used for the nest were grasses, leaves and twigs held together by mud. Nest number two was in a lovely berry tree in Grandma Kathy's back yard. Only the platform of twigs woven perfectly was left of this nest. Wind and rain swept away the soft inner lining. But I still think that this nest is beautiful in the picture.

Rag Rug
I just finished a crocheted rag rug. We placed the rug in the kitchen, Mom really loves it there. I crocheted this rug in a circle by increasing every row to make the rug wider but keep it from curling up. I cut a lot of fabric into long strips and crocheted them as if it was yarn with a huge hook. I am very satisfied with the result!
