Field Hiding

We all enjoyed Elliot's hiding in the field behind Grandma Kathy's house. He dressed up in his camouflage hat and green clothing. We took Sammy and Lilly (our search dogs) to sniff him out. The field was filled with deer beds, and later on we saw three deer in the field. Elliot built a fort of grasses and sticks in the middle.

Going to Missouri

On our way to Missouri I took some pictures of Elliot playing with a paper bag. We were pretty bored so Elliot enjoyed posing for the camera!

Traveling down River Road

When we were going to the pumpkin patch we traveled down River road. On one side was the Mississippi river and the other side was beautiful trees just beginning to change colors. I got a picture of a barge traveling on the river.

Visiting the corn maze and Pumkin patch in Illinois

We went to the great Godfrey corn maze and Eckert's family pumpkin patch. It took us 30 minutes to got through the maze, it is very big. After we were done with the maze we did the Corn shooter, it shoots corn with compressed air. Elliot was the only one who hit the board. After that we drove to the pumpkin patch, at the pumpkin patch we rode the hayride and went to the patch to pick a pumpkin. Elliot's pumpkin was shaped like an apple, very unique. At Grandma Kathy's house we craved them!

Elliot's Birthday in Missouri

In Missouri we celebrated Elliot's birthday with Grandma and Grandpa Baker, and Aunt Tracy, Uncle Pat, and cousin Rachael. We went to Dixon's Chili for lunch and then to Grandma and Grandpa's for presents and cake. Elliot got a N-strike Longshot CS-6 Nerf machine gun, He loves it!The whole thing in one piece is three feet tall, the front breaks off into another gun, a more hand held version. He got glow in the dark bullets, whistling bullets, and extras of course! From Aunt Tracy, Uncle Pat, and Cousin Rachael he got a nice set of Blendy pens, some kind of special marker and paper. We had a turtle cake from Sheridan's Frozen custard, yum!

Finding Mushrooms

Today I found two mushrooms in the backyard. They are fascinating. Have you ever looked very closely at the underside of a mushroom? The outside has an interesting firmness but it is also has a moist softness at the same time. I picked them only because our silly dog will eat the and get sick. Next time you find a mushroom look at it closely and you will be amazed!

A visit to the pumpkin patch

We went to the pumpkin patch with friends this week. There were lots of farm animals. The tricycles and the huge tire swings were our favorite. We got to choose a pumpkin, and walk around in the pumpkin patch. What a fun fall activity!

Elliot's Trains

Last night Elliot set up his Brio train set. There was a pirate ship, water patrol tower, draw bridge, traffic control, train station, helicopter, and cave. The green train carried aquarium cars (a shark and octopus), an automobile, and a lumber car.

Helping a kitten

This week Elliot and I were playing in the back yard when we heard a kitten. We found it stuck under our neighbors deck. After we got it out, we asked some people on our street if it was theirs. No one claimed it. So mom called the humane society and they took it, it will get a good home there.
