Ha Ha Tonka State park

While we were at the Lake we went to Ha Ha Tonka State park with Rachael. I spent a lot of time taking pictures of the Castle Ruins, and the water tower ruins. Here is a little history about the castle:

This Castle was Built by a man named Robert McClure Snyder (fun name). Robert Snyder grew up in a family of 7 children, his father, grandfather, and great grandfather were all millers by trade owning mills and grocery stores. When Robert grew up he also worked at wholesale grocery stores and at mills in St Louis Missouri, and Kansas City Missouri. Then he branched out and started working in real estate speculation, banking, and utilities. In 1904 he purchased Ha Ha Tonka Lake and Spring in Camden Missouri and started to make large improvements. He wanted this land to spend his leisure time on fishing and exploring the caves of the hills, without any worries. Mr. Snyder had 4 sons and was a caring father to all of them although he was a busy and sucessful buisness man. The Castle was burned in 1942 along with the stable. The water tower was burned in 1976. Mr. Snyder died in a automoblie accident, one of the first in Mossroui (I couldn't find anymore information on "when" he died).

Here are some more pictures of the State Park!
