Exploring the Sunken Gardens
This week we went to the sunken gardens in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was just beautiful, there was a small pond and water fall. The flowers were just lovely. We saw 5 foot Elephant ears, and the leaves were 4 foot in length, wow. There were asters that were covered with monarch butterflies! These gardens are just beautiful!

Walnut Collecting
This weekend we collected walnuts with friends. We went to Walnut Grove Park and collected the many walnuts that had fallen from the great abundance of walnut trees. The second step after collecting them is to crush the green flesh on the outside, which is done by stepping and rolling them around with your foot. Inside is the green husk, there is a lot of yellow oil that stains your hands so we had rubber gloves on. The next step is to rinse them off and let them set for two weeks. More news later!

Land of 10,000 Lakes
This summer we went to Minneapolis to see dad who is there working. While we were there we did a lot of fun things. We went to Mall of America and rode on the Pepsi Ripsaw! We all enjoyed time together at Bryant lake. On lake Minnetonka we rode on a historic charter boat called the Lady of the Lake. This boat and lake are beautiful.
