Celebrating Grandpa's Birthday

For Grandpa's birthday we rented a pontoon boat on Lake Jacomo. Elliot was the only one who was brave enough to swim. We also fished a little bit too.
While we were in the boat mom started an oyster cracker game. What we did was open our mouths wide and then let the other person try to throw crackers in our mouth! (Elliot's wearing my sunglasses.)

Afterward we went to the Blue Springs Lake to feed the carp. WOW, there were so many carp! If you stood on the side of the dock the fish would stick their mouths out of the water and beg for food. Dad laid down on the dock and tried to catch one, but they don't like being touched.

Chick-fil-a

We LOVE Chick-fil-a. Yesterday we ate their for the first time (except dad has been their before)!! We were in Kansas City for My Grandpa's 75th birthday. :)
You have to watch this video by Tim Hawkins about Chick-fil-a.

Baby Bunnies

Dad found three baby bunnies in the backyard Saturday. Aren't they cute!? I took care of them for 3 days before we let them go in a nearby park.

Shopping in Parkville

Thursday we went shopping in Parkville, MO with Rachael, Aunt Tracy, and Sammy! We had a lot of fun wandering through the city. For lunch we went to Frank's Italian restaurant, we ate outside because we had Sammy with us. Later on we went to a Yarn Shop, I loved combing over all of the different colors. After we were done shopping we went to a trail by the river looking for a dog park for Sammy, but the dog park did not exist (sorry sammy).

Shopping at the Plaza

Wednesday we went to the Crown Center shopping mall and The Plaza in Kansas city with my cousin Rachael. The Plaza is an upscale shopping mall, (very fun). At the plaza we went to all kinds of different shops like Burberry, Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, American Eagle, and Tivol jewelry. For lunch we went to PF Chang's. Inside Restoration Hardware (a furniture store) Rachael and made sure that all the furniture was nice and cozy including the outdoor furniture!

When our waiter gave us a bowl of lemon wedges at PF Chang's Rachael said "I'm going to eat this whole lemon wedge" and she did, mom and I both tried but we could not finish it.

Kansas City's nickname is "The city of fountains" and it's so true every few blocks there is almost always a beautiful fountain. Rachael says she is sick of fountains. :)
While we were walking past a seafood restaurant which just happened to have a revolving door Mom told Rachael to go in the revolving door, and make a full circle back out. She did it and we laughed really hard!

Sunflowers

Sadly this year I have no sunflowers to photograph. Before we went to Kansas city this week my sunflowers were all doing well but while we were gone the squirrels took every single one of the flower heads. I'm really bummed. :(

This picture is from last years sunflowers.

Sarpy county fair 09'

We were at the fair all day yesterday. In the morning we watched the parade, later on in the afternoon Elliot ran the foot races and we both participated in the animal scramble. The animal scramble is where they let orphaned farm animals in the arena and let the kids run out and catch the animals, what you catch you can keep (or sell). Elliot caught a chicken and sold it to a farmer for 2$, I was going after a bunny but I didn't catch anything. In the evening we worked at the 4-H food stand for 4 hours with some of my good friends. In the snack shack Julia and I made 45 hot dogs in a row (they were a big hit), Samantha was whipping up walking tacos like nobodies business. Great job guys! :)
