Happy Birthday Julia!

Happy birthday peach :) Thank you for being such a sweet sweet friend to me.
Here are some encouraging verses for you. :)

...live according to God in regard to the spirit 1 Peter 4:6

Cast all you anxiety on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Watch out that you do not loose what you've worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.
2 John 1:8

...He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
2 Corinthians 12:9

For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6

It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God - that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30

I love this picture

Do you love it too?
This picture reminds me of something that would be a part of a breath-taking scenic article in one of my Whole Living or Real Simple magazines. An article and photograph that I would turn to and gaze at thinking to myself, "Wow. Isn't that beautiful. Maybe someday I'll get to be in a place like that."
Well it turns out, that I took this picture over the summer while we were in Maine. This picture is of Cape Porpoise cove at sunset. I was there! I saw this in person. I have been so richly blessed. Over and over again. I've kept this picture has been my laptop screen saver ever since I took it. What a beautiful reminder it is to me. :)

We will never forget.
I know I will never forget. The horrific event that happened on this day 11 years ago is a day the United States of America will forever be impacted by.

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:1-4

More sunsets!

Whoa. What makes this even better is that these were all taken on the same night, within a 1 hour time span.

Today I got rid of the two long denim skirts I owned.
Wow! It feels so weird to do that. The time when I wore those skirts was a very memorable stage in my life. Its such a weird feeling to let that go. Mom was going throught my closet with me and she told me, "Hunter do you ever wear these?" uuhh no. "Well then get rid of them you never wear them!" but they're sentimental! "Get rid of them to free up space in your closet." Okay, that's a decent reason. Hence I got rid of them. :-o I'm free!
This brings me back to the time for everything verses in Ecclesiastes:
...a time to search and time to give up,
a time to keep and time to throw away...
-Ecclesiastes 3:6

Sunsets

There are some disadvantages to living downtown.
But the sunsets is not one of them :)

As many nights as I could, I took a picture of the sunset behind downtown from our roof. I tried to do it at the same time and in the same exact spot so only the sky would determine the differences. This is what I came up with! My favorite is the fifth one. :) After the rain passed over it left a magnificent pink-tinted sunset. The second on was really magnificent as well.

Like.

Has anybody noticed how much the word "like" is so over used?
Its annoyingly ridiculous. Annoying because I over use this word all the time as well. Even though I know how silly it sounds. Example: "Hey mom! Today at class we sat like a lot and then the teacher talked about this like really graphic story. I was like grossed out. Now I have all this homework to do on the graphic story and I like really don't want to do it. Who would want to write about like graphic stories?? Like why does this historical stuff have to be so graphic??" Oh goodness. Ridiculous huh? (that was just a crazy example I've never actually carried on a conversation like (aaaahhhh!!!!!) such as that one).
The other day I was mindlessly flipping through a random magazine and one of the stories caught my eye. I began to read it and this is how one of the sentences went, "...and Emma was like "I'm back!" What? Now we're using "like" in publication instead of the word said or replied or exclaimed. I couldn't believe it.
Hopefully this post of the newest thing I've noticed doesn't make it so that it bothers you too. This was just meant as a writing topic for me :)
