Bright Lights Conference

Last week we went to a Bright Lights conference taught by Sarah Mally. I really enjoyed the conference and what was taught there. I also loved meeting other girls there, that also want to be strong for the Lord in their youth. The conference was a lot of fun, they did a lot of skits and fun activity's. Sarah, Steven, and Grace played a Harp trio also.

Fontenelle Forest

Fontenelle Forest is the perfect place to go and watch nature! We saw a Red bellied woodpecker, tons of gold finches, and some deer. I especially enjoyed listening to a Barred Owl in the trees!! I also took pictures of some wildflowers called Dutchman's Breeches and the Common Blue Violet.

Hannah's Birthday Party

f

Last week I enjoyed spending some time with my friend Hannah at her birthday party. We all went to the zoo together and I am really excited for the bran new Skyfari to open up!! It's like a big ski lift over some of the animals. After that we went to Hannah's house for Sloppy Joes and an amazing chocolate ice cream cake. Afterward we went shopping!! We went to Aeropostale, Gap, Target(my favorite!), and Kohl's. Thank you Hannah for inviting me to your 12th birthday party!

Discovery Group Talent Show

Last week our Home School group had a talent show. Elliot recited I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud By William Woodsworth. I was going to play the piano but earlier that day I sprained my finger so I wasn't able too. A lot of our friends played the piano or recited a peom. My friend Julianna played Moon Rise on the harp. One of the families did a Drama at the end!

Delayed

Last week while playing Volley ball, I sprained my right ring finger. As of right now it is in a splint, so I am delayed from most handwork (crocheting, knitting, letter writing, and sewing). I also cannot play volley ball or piano. But eventually it will heal, I am looking forward to that!

Orange Chicken rice bowl

Our family has thoroughly enjoyed this simple recipe numerous times.
Orange Chicken rice bowl

Total time: 30 min.
Makes 4 servings
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast cut into strips
  • 1/4 cup of Asian dressing (I used Kraft dressing)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 3 cups frozen stir-fry vegetables
  • 3 cups hot cooked long-grain rice
Heat large non-stick skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken; stir fry until done (5 to 7 min)
Stir in dressing and juice. Bring to a boil. Add vegetables; cook 5 to 7 minutes. Or until heated through, stirring occasionally.
Serve over rice and enjoy!
