Rachael and I

We have too much fun. :) This is us at The Plaza in Kansas City, 2008. We're both SO happy and laughing hysterically at who knows what. My smile is usually the biggest with I'm with Rachael. :)

This is us over the summer, 2012 in the parking lot of a grocery store in New Jersey eating lunchables. Haha :) Once again laughing hysterically together. No matter where we are we'll have a great time.
Riding in the back of their rental car this summer. Jammin' out with the windows down.
And surfing together. Whoa, two midwest girls who grew up tubing in lakes and fishing in rivers out in the Atlantic on a surfboard. :) oh yeah.

Miss you girl.

My volleyball team won third at the nationals tournament last week in Springfield, Missouri!
I am so grateful that I was a apart of this wonderful team this year. It was a delightful season.

The white medals are bronze for third place. Red medals are for All Tournament and the blue medal is for christian character.

Trees do change colors in Houston!
Not really though. That's just wishful thinking :)
This is a Yellow poinciana tree.

new hair cut!

This face encompasses my feelings over my new haircut. I'm doing something new by parting my hair in the middle and pulling my long "bangs" to the side. Almost like what I did in fall 2010.
hhhhmmmm...

A very full and stressful school week is awaiting me. But you know what, when I frett and dwell on it theres no way for me to attenuate that which is burdening me.
I'm going to try something new.
This is my plan:
"...take a deep breath, loosen the shoulders, stay fluid.
Let go and lean.
Lean back into Him.
There is this way of living: abandon all worries and abide in Christ - all is well
The reliefs in the release of everything into the hands of God. Isn't it all safer in His hands anyway?
Abandon and abide -
all is well.

Life's an adventure when we move as He moves."

Oh yes. I'm totally feeling this fall mood and the outfit. :)

From Boden
Perfect Sunday

It was a cold day. Starting with a brisk morning. The air felt so clean and crisp to breath. Church this morning was blissful. We sang The Greatest Command, the alto part repeated this same line six times over again:
Love one another, for love is of God,
He who loves is born of God, And knows God
He who does not love, does not know God
For God is love, God is Love

It was so beautiful to inscribe in my almost thought-less morning head. In bible class we discussed, why did Jesus come to earth? He came to be our:
Illuminator
Judge
Liberator
Burden Bearer
Surrering Savior
Sin Bearer
Intercessor
Why? Because He loved me so. He gave His precious life for me because He loved me so. (which is also a song, not sure what its called.)
On this freeing note we came home. The rest of my day was spent in my knee-high argyle orange and green socks. They're very comfy. :)

We painted over all the random purple squares I scattered throughout my room. My walls look so plain now! Three times today I took a double look at my walls, a little confused. haha :) Apparently I like the look of varying colors surrounding my walls. Maybe I'll make that my new creative project.....but I won't paint it permanently this time.

I miss the feeling of being absorbed into the vivid green, thick forest. Teaming with the sight of life and regrowth.

Blogging

I have surpassed the amount of posts I posted in all of 2011 with this addition to Hunter's Happenings.

Last year I always put blogging on my 'to do' list. Making it something that I should be doing, something that I felt bad about not doing. I realize now how having that sort of mindset on blogging caused me to do the opposite and not wish to blog at all. I started the majority of my posts with "Sorry for the absence of blogging!" and then went on to describe why I had not been faithful in posting. As if I was trying to catch up and make do. Hm.

Lately I have changed this mindset. I now turn to blogging when I feel an impulse to write or to capture a fun picture or exhilarating moment. An example would be, having a messy desk that was so beautifully comfortable for me (it is in a much less cluttered state now). Changing my mindset in this way has made it so that now I look forward to finding a moment to write on my blog. I've been organizing my thoughts into little journal entry packages I can either place in my print journal or on my online journal. Overall its a simple way of processing thoughts. But I find it quite rewarding.

If I could take more off my 'to do' list and instead bring a new mindset of enjoyment to what I have to accomplish, would I be happier doing whatever it is? Even just a small thought, "I am doing this math problem, which I now think is very silly, so that one day I can be a cashier at a flower shop just like I've always wanted." or "Being at the grocery store right now is teaching me that I will not always be where I want to be. Which is a lesson that's helpful to understand for a lot of reasons." :) Can you see it? Simple thought processes. Leading to a gratifying mindset.

Oh! and happy October to everyone! :)
