Lately I have been searching for empty birds nests in the bare trees. I have found two so far. The cup like nest was found in a baby tree at Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge. The materials used for the nest were grasses, leaves and twigs held together by mud. Nest number two was in a lovely berry tree in Grandma Kathy's back yard. Only the platform of twigs woven perfectly was left of this nest. Wind and rain swept away the soft inner lining. But I still think that this nest is beautiful in the picture.
