This interesting looking sign says this:
The old "Wilson place"
of west Rockport, Maine built
during or prior to the Revolutionary
war & lost at sea August 8, 1964
during an attempt to move it by
barge to this site was the
inspiration for the erection of this
building. It was built with the hope
of revealing the skill of the early
American craftsmen some of the
materials came from the original
house. The rest were found in various
locations across the sate.

No one is living there currently. The house is for sale for 20,000 dollars to be moved. I can't believe they're going to move it again! Wow, what a story.
